BSMA Nationals 2010 Regulations


 The Doodson Motosport BSMA National Series 2010

1. Series Events to be strictly conducted in accordance with the BSMA/AMX rules and Constitution 2010

3. Entries.
These are open to any rider holding a current 2010 BSMA/AMX Licence.
Entries restricted to : 40 Open/AMX Combined (Will race together and pointed separately)
40 Seniors 144cc/250F
40 Seniors 125cc
60 Big Wheel 85cc/150F
60 Small Wheel 85cc/150F
40 Juniors 65cc

The registration fee is £180.00 NON Returnable.The registration forms must be completed and returned to Vic Amor , 32 Barrow Close, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 2BD before the 1st March 2010 to enable riders inclusion in the series program covers . Registration will be numbered and dated on receipt. Acceptance will be on a first come/ first served basis. Cheques to be made payable to the Champion of Champions acc 2010
The entry fees per event are BSMA £60.00
AMX £70.00
The closing date for entries will be 10 days before each round. Entries received after the closing date are not garrenteed a place be the rider registered or not. Entries to be made to Vic Amor, 32 Barrow Close, Marlborough ,Wiltshire, SN8 2BD for ALL rounds.
Entries may be accepted from Non registered riders to compete in all groups to maintain competitive line ups.
These Entries will not be considered until after the closing date.
The NON Registered riders entry fees will be BSMA £80.00 and AMX £90.00.
Novice Riders Will NOT be allowed to enter or compete.
If you cannot take part in a meeting, you have to cancel out before the Tuesday before the event by ringing the Secretary. Failure to do so will eliminate any chance of any refund.
Refunds:
Registration : No refunds
Entry : Refund only on a verified medical certificate of injury/illness or for compassionate reasons. 

4. Machines, Eligibility and Classes .
As per BSMA/AMX Rules and Constitution 2010 

5. Only TWO machines maximum per rider will be
scrutineered together with Helmet .
Random scrutineering will take place during the meeting
including clothing and safety equipment.
It is very important that the Bore and Stroke of each
machine is clearly marked on the Barrel of the machine .
Any number of machines per group may be stripped to
Check bore and stroke each meeting. PLEASE NOTE, It is the responsibility of the rider/his mechanic to carry the necessary gaskets etc. for engine rebuilding.
Noise testing to be carried out during meetings at the
discretion of the Clerk of the Course.
Randomly selected Bikes in every group may
be impounded for 30mins immediately after their race.
Riding Nos. must be of correct size and clearly displayed
on the correct colour backgrounds as per BSMA Rule
book.
Juniors : White numerals on a Black background
Inter 85 group: White numerals on a Red background
Inter Open group: White numerals on a British Racing
Green background
Senior group: White numerals on a Dark Blue
Background
AMX Class: White numerals on a Black background
Open Class: BLACK numerals on a YELLOW
background. 

6 Transponders.
It is the responsibility of the rider to return the
Transponder to the designated place and person with in
30 minutes of the finish of the final race of the meeting.
Failure to do so will result in loss of transponder deposit.
Any competitor whose transponder is lost on track or not
returned will be invoiced for the FULL replacement costs. 

7 Only one machine may be used per race. 

8 Riding Nos will be allocated to registered riders by the Series Booking in Secretary on a first come first choice ect. 

9 Start.
The start will be live engine clutch type.
Once a rider has taken their position at the start gate , they cannot change it.
The riders are deemed to be under the starters control when the starter has raised the Green Flag/National Flag .
The starter will hold up a 15 second board for a full 15 seconds. At the end of the 15 seconds, he will hold up a 5 second board and the gate will drop between 5 and 10 seconds after the 5 second board is shown.
Riders who experience mechanical problems when under the starters control must indicate the fact to the starter by holding one arm directly up right. The starter will then hold up a two minute then one minute board to indicate the count down of the time allowed. The rider will then have the two minutes to rectify their problem and then the race will be started. This two minute delay will only take place once per start.
No one except Riders and Officials shall be permitted in the area of the start gate.
False starts shall be indicated by the waving of the red flag.
NOTE : A rider who did not participate in the initial false
Start , ie. was not on the line, will not be allowed to take the line for a restart of the race.
NOTE : A change of bike for race restarts may only take place in the pegging up area , Not in the start gate area. 

10.Stopping a Race.
The Clerk of the Course has the right on his own initiative, for urgent safety reasons,or other cases of force majeure, to stop a race prematurely or cancel a part or the whole of the meeting
In the event of a race being stopped by a red flag, if two thirds of the race is completed that result will stand. The result is taken from the last complete lap ridden.
If a race has to be stopped after the leader(s) have passed the chequered flag , they will be classified as having finished the race. The order of classification for those who have not taken the chequered flag shall be based upon the order of the last crossing the finish line prior to the showing of the red flag. 

11.Outside Assistance, Course Cutting.
Any outside assistance on the course is forbidden during the qualifying(s) and the race(s) unless it is carried out by a marshall appointed by an official of the meeting to carry out his duty in the interests of safety.
Where a Rider breaks the tape and or leaves the track during a race that Rider must rejoin at a point at which he left or a safe point previous to that which he left the track.(ref : rule 14.6 BSMA Competition rules) 

12. Qualifying Practice
The Chequered flag will be shown 12 minutes after the
first rider on his/her’s first lap of practice passes the finish
line. This will apply to all groups. 

13. Qualifying
The fastest 40 registered riders in each of the 85/150F
classes in the timed practice will race their corresponding
main group through out the meeting. Remaining
registered riders will participate in the support group
through out the meeting. All registered riders will
establish their first race gate position by their timed
practice position. In the event of timing failure pegs will
be used to determine the first race positions.
Following start positions will be determined by the
previous race finish positions eg. race winner gets peg
peg 1 and so on.

NON Registered Riders will receive no Championship
Points.
To be classed as a finisher, a rider must have completed at
Least 50% of the race ( ie. If race 10 laps in length , 5
Laps must be recorded completed) and take the chequered
flag within 5 minutes of the winner crossing the finish line 

15. Protests
All racing protests must be in writing with the appropriate fee £50.00 and made within 30 minutes of the production of the chequered flag of the race in question.
Any Protests over results must be made within 30 minutes from the time the results are first displayed. 

16. Results.
Results should be displayed within 30 minutes of the
Finish of the race, The actual points accrued in the races
at the meeting by riders will be carried forward for the
overall Championship results. ALL race points from all
rounds and races will count towards the Championship
In the event of a tie, the rider gaining the greatest number
Of 1st places in any leg/race shall take the premier 
position. If this fails to decide the tie, then the rider
gaining the greater number of second places and so on to
the last position shall take the premier position. If still a
tie, the rider obtaining the higher placing in the final
race shall take the premier position.
This system also applies in the event of a championship
Tie. 

17. Trophies.
There will be Series Trophies in all BSMA groups. To
qualify Riders will have to have entered and competed in
5 of 6 rounds ie in 0ne less than the total rounds run in
the Series 

18. Prize Money.
There will be a prize fund for the Series top 3 AMX and
Top three Open Class and tropies for those who enter and
Compete in the whole series less one round. 

19. Program of Races
There will be five blocks of racing subject to conditions and timing .It may be that due to unforeseen circumstances that the Clerk of Course may have to alter race formats. 

20. Marshalling .
Marshalls will be supplied at all rounds of the Series. Parents will be offered the opportunity to marshall and hence substantially reduce their racing expences. 

21. General
Generators to be switched off by 11.30.pm. Will all participants please consider there are young persons present that will be racing over two days and require a good nights sleep!!
All dogs must be secured at all times during racing . 

22. Notice to all riders
Machines must be pushed in the paddock with dead engines. Any one found breaking this rule will be excluded from the meeting. Your attention is drawn to the serious consequences which could arise from an accident caused by unauthorised riding in the paddock.Liability for any claim could rest with the owners of the vechicle and the driver(or parent/guardian in the case of a minor) 

23. The Dumping of Waste products be they human or mechanical in unauthorised areas/facilities is Strictly BANNED
It is illegal to deposit waste oil in to the environment.
All waste oils must be contained by working on
motorcycles on rubber backed mats and waste oils to be
taken away in containers.
PLEASE remember to take your used tyres home and not
put them in the skips. 

24. Everyone is reminded of Rule No : 14.7 Competitors
Vehicle must have at least one fire extinguisher. Min 1.5 kg (not water) These will be checked at random.
25 Declaration.
It is a condition of acceptance of entry that the promoters,
Clubs,BSMA ,and AMX shall not be responsible for any
damage to a motorcycle or its accessories, transponders
whether by fire, accident or any other causes, nor for
theft of a motorcycle or its accessories during a
meeting. 

26. We the Series Committee reserve the right to alter and
