17th July 2008 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS 2008 The BSMA and the ACU are pleased to announce a joint venture to establish a true British Youth Champion. The event will be known as the “Champion of Champions 2008” and this year will be held at the famous Foxhills track, Nr Swindon, Wilts on the 18/19 October 2008. There will be classes for 65’s, 85 small wheel and big wheel, Senior (youth open) and a separate open class for the adults. Riders will be invited to enter and will be selected by a panel made up of members of both organisations. The format for this event will be unique. Entries will be accepted from 40, 65’s. 60, 85 small wheels and 60, 85 big wheels and 60 seniors plus 40 adult open. The 85’s and the Senior’s will be divided into two groups of 30 picked at random, with the best 17 from each group going through to the final. The top 6 from the non qualifiers will also go through as a last chance to qualify for the race for a champion. Prizes will only be awarded to the top three in each group. It is intended that this meeting will be an annual event with each organisation running the event on alternative years, with the other giving it’s full support. This is a true coming together of the organisations for the benefit of the sport. This event will be the most significant meeting in the youth calendar. This event will be held under the jurisdiction of the BSMA standing rules and regulations and will be eligible to both BSMA and ACU licence holders.
